The Presbyterian Church of Chestertown is an incredibly “mission-minded” congregation. From the beginning, the church has strived to be sensitive to the gospel mandate to care for less fortunate people.

Parishioners generously support a myriad of local organizations working to alleviate poverty and human suffering. Members are committed financially, volunteer time, and support their work with our church resources.

On the Eastern Shore of Maryland, we connect with our neighbors through:

  • Chester Valley Ministerial Association (advocate improvement initiatives and promote community cooperation)
  • Kent County Community Food Pantry (provides supplemental food to those with limited income)
  • Community Table (offers a free weekly, family-style dinner)
  • Crossroads Community, Inc. (individuals with behavioral health needs)
  • Deep Roots at Clairvaux Farm (supporting Cecil County families experiencing homelessness)
  • For All Seasons (outpatient mental health, psychiatric, and rape crisis services)
  • Good Neighbor Fund (helping neighbors with emergency needs)
  • Haven Ministries (shelter, clothing, food, and resources for neighbors experiencing poverty)
  • Kent Attainable Housing (helping to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty)
  • Light & Love (safe, accessible, welcoming group to support young people)
  • Minary’s Dream Alliance (supporting education, resource development, and community engagement)
  • Samaritan Group (we are a “host” site for the shelter for one month each winter)
