MISSION at PCC
Here are some of the ways we connect with God's Mission here at PCC:
In Kent, Queen Anne's, and Cecil Counties, Maryland we connect with our neighbors through:
- Backpack Program (supporting youth at the Kent Co. Middle School with nutritious meals for the weekends and school holidays)
- Community Food Pantry
- Good Neighbor Fund (helping neighbors with emergency needs)
- Samaritan Shelter (we are a "host" site for the shelter for one month each winter)
- Deep Roots at Clairvaux Farm (supporting families experiencing homelessness)
- "Knitting Group" supports local nursing homes, Hospice, and Food Pantry
- Rebuilding Together, Kent Co. MD (improving housing for our neighbors)
- Camp Agape (through the Episcopal Diocese of Easton - working with children whose parents are incarcerated)
In the USA and globally we connect with neighbors and partners around the world through:
- Malawi Partnership with the congregation of Matiki CCAP (Church of Central Africa Presbyterian) in Dwangwa, Malawi
- Volunteer work teams help with hurricane recovery (teams have gone to New Orleans, Mississippi, New Jersey, and Crisfield MD)
- "Stop Hunger Now" food packaging events
- "Gifts of the Heart" School and Health Kits (Church World Service)
- We support PCUSA missionaries: Tyler and Rochelle Holm (Malawi) and Kay Day (Rwanda)
- We support Mennonite mission workers: Warren and Sophea West (Cambodia)
