The Reverend Doctor Alison Halsey began as PCC’s Interim Consultant in September of 2018.
Her impressive resume includes a B.A. in Elementary Education, a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Doctorate of Ministry in Counseling from Colgate Rochester Theological Seminary, senior pastorates at University Presbyterian Church in Buffalo, NY, and at First and Franklin Streets in Baltimore, MD. She has just completed two interim positions with churches in the Baltimore Presbytery, after which she and her husband moved to Wilmington, where they anticipated retirement!
Alison and her husband, The Reverend Doctor William Hathaway, have two married sons and two granddaughters. In their leisure time they enjoy hiking, kayaking, beach walking, travel, and camping. Alison also enjoys Navajo and tapestry weaving.
Her responsibilities at PCC include chairing the Mission Study, a required first step before a Pastor Nominating Committee can be selected, moderating Session meetings, meeting with congregation leaders, preaching at least one Sunday each month, and working to prepare the congregation to receive a new pastor. In this last capacity, she will be working with Tom Speers, our liaison to the Presbytery Committee on Ministers and Congregations (COMC). Alison will be in the office one day per week, in addition to two Sundays each month.
